Live Gigs Are The Best!

For me nothing can beat the feeling of seeing your favourite band/singer live and in person. Seeing them in the flesh singing the songs you love is something really special.

Don’t get me wrong I love listening to CD’s and downloads but seriously nothing will ever feel better or more exciting than going to a live gig. From the start of the day the excitement builds.

What am I going to wear? How early should I start queuing,? What merch should I buy? Will they sing my favourite song? Will they premiere any new materiel? It’s all so exhilarating.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to see some amazing singer’s and band’s live. I’ve witnessed Cheryl at a sold-out O2 Arena in London, Girls Aloud at the same venue, Joe McElderry at St David’s Hall in Cardiff, Ward Thomas at The Globe in Cardiff, two X Factor gigs at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Union J at the same venue and also at The Glee Club in Cardiff, I have seen Little Mix, JLS and more at the Pontypridd’s Big Weekend Festival in the park. Every single concert I have been to holds a special place in my heart and I always love booking new events.

Tonight I am going to see Ward Thomas for the second time in Cardiff and I am so excited. They are amazing live and their harmonies are spine tingling.  And I am also going to see Lady Antebellum in Birmingham for the first time ever this October.

For me there is nothing more exciting or entertaining than going to a live gig.

George Shelley’s Debut Solo Single Is Amazing

Wow! George Shelley’s debut solo single ‘360’ is really incredible. His vocals are so strong and suit the rock vibe perfectly.

The style is worlds away from what he was making and releasing with Union J, and the new genre of laid back rock suits his voice so well.

I am also loving the official music video for the track, and I cannot wait to hear the next five songs over the next five weeks as I know I am going to love them all.

George’s vocals are so powerful he never really needed to be part of a group so going solo is the best thing that could have happened. ‘360’ is a really special song as I know it is very personal to George, and that really comes through in the lyrics. I am so proud of him and I can’t wait for his debut album.

I am so excited to see what the future holds for him because he has the talent to take him all the way.

Excited About George Shelley’s New Project

I am so excited that George Shelley is now officially a solo artist! He was always my fave member of Union J, and I feel is vocal ability is strong enough to stand alone. He really doesn’t need to be in a band, his voice is strong enough on its own.

His GSOriginals project sounds fantastic and I love the fact that for the next six weeks he will be releasing a brand new song and video. I adored the snippet he posted of ‘Soldier’ so I can’t wait to hear it in full soon.

I’m also really proud that he has announced that he will be performing at Under The Bridge in London this December.

I can’t wait to see what the next few months and years has in store for George, as I truly believe he has the talent to become a world famous musician.

I cannot wait for the first music video to drop next Sunday as I just know it is going to be awesome.

Can’t Wait For George Shelley’s Debut Album

I am so happy and excited that George Shelley’s solo career will be kicking off in less than one week!

The video he posted on Twitter of the symbols and the sound of a broken radio have made so excited as you can hear the faint sound of his beautiful vocals in the background and also the names of songs appear for a short time! I clearly saw the words ‘360’, and ‘Soldier’.

I am a big fan of Union J, but George has always been my favourite member so the fact that he is going solo has made me so happy. He is so sweet and talented and he deserves every little bit of success that comes his way.

I can’t wait for him to announce/release his debut solo album on the 13th of November as I just know it is going to be amazing.

He has so much talent and his vocals are insane!

Excited That Union J Will Be Performing Covers Soon

I am super excited about the new Union J lineup and I cannot wait to hear their new music and find out what direction they are taking their music in.

I am also really excited that the boys will be performing covers soon! Band member Josh Cuthbert confirmed on Twitter yesterday that Union J will be filming some covers soon.

I can’t wait to find out what songs they have chosen. I would love to hear them perform Aston Merrygold’s brilliant new single ‘I Ain’t Missing You’, DNCE’s super fun ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and also Nick Jonas’ gorgeous track from his latest album ‘Last Year Was Complicated’, ‘Unhinged’.

I think it would be a really cool idea for them to cover DNCE’s brilliant ‘Cake By The Ocean’ as it is such a fun song. And I would love them to cover Aston Merrygold’s ‘I Ain’t Missing You’ as I think the garage vibe would suit them. But my absolute fave cover I would love to see them perform is Nick Jonas’ stunning song ‘Unhinged’ I think their vocals would sound incredible on this gorgeous track.

I can’t wait to hear what songs they have decided to cover as I know I will love their versions.

So Happy Union J Are Back in the Studio

I am so excited that Josh Cuthbert has confirmed that Union J are officially back in the recording studio working on their new album!

I have to admit I was kinda worried that we wouldn’t be getting a new LP from the boys after they postponed their upcoming October tour and pushed it back until February 2017, but this news has made me so excited.

This will be the first album with new band member Casey Johnson who replaced George Shelley in the group, and I can’t wait to hear the direction they are now going in.

I’m not going to lie I was pretty gutted when George left (he was my fave), but I’m willing to keep an open mind on the boys bringing in Casey, I only want what’s best for Union J and if Casey fits in well then that can only be a good thing.

He seems to have fitted in well with the three members so far and his bond with Josh in particular looks strong so I’m excited for their future.

I just hope that they get the backing of record label insiders and radio as their talent is immense but I feel they don’t get a lot of support and promotion.

Fingers crossed their new album is a huge hit as they truly deserve it.

So Excited That George Shelley Is Working on Solo Music

I am so happy and excited that the gorgeous George Shelley is working on his own solo music! He is a fantastic talent and since he left Union J (who I still love) he has been carving out a successful career for himself as a radio presenter but his voice is too good not to release his own music.

So I was delighted when I saw that he is working on a beautiful song called ‘Soldier’ which I assume is about his older brother who is a soldier. The clip he posted was only ten seconds long but it was enough to showcase his wonderful vocal ability.

His voice is very strong and deep so he never needed to be in a band as his vocals are good enough to carry him on his own, so a solo career would be perfect for him.

I am really excited to see what the future holds for him as he has the talent to take him to the top! This time next year he could be a huge megastar in his own right (I hope he does become a hugely successful solo star).

Not only can he sing but he also plays the guitar and is extremely good looking and very kind and sweet so he really does have the whole package.

I wish him all the best for his solo music career and I can’t wait to buy his music in the future.

Celebrating Four Years of Union J

I can’t believe it has been four years since Union J were formed. Their music has been a huge part of my life these past years and although they are now taking a different route with new band member Casey Johnson I still have a spot for the original line-up which included the wonderfully talented George Shelley.

For me the four years of Union J include George hence why the picture at the top of my blog post includes him!

It’s not that I’m not a fan of the new-look Union J it’s just that for me this celebration of four years of Union J would not have happened without George, but now he is no longer part of the group they can start to shape a new chapter in the career of the band.

I am really proud of how far they have come in four short years since they finished fourth on the 2012 series of the X Factor. They have sold out tours across the UK released multiple hit albums and singles and even had a range of their own dolls released.

Although I am gutted that George Shelley has left the band (he was my favourite) I am also very excited to see what Casey will bring to the table and how Union J will progress.

I can’t wait for their new album to see what direction they have decided to take their music in as I know I’m going to love it.

These past four years have shown how talented the boys are but I think they haven’t shown their true selves yet and I know they have so much more to give.

I sincerely hope that this new LP gets the recognition it deserves as I believe Union J are one of the best pop groups the UK has produced in recent history.
