Live Gigs Are The Best!

For me nothing can beat the feeling of seeing your favourite band/singer live and in person. Seeing them in the flesh singing the songs you love is something really special.

Don’t get me wrong I love listening to CD’s and downloads but seriously nothing will ever feel better or more exciting than going to a live gig. From the start of the day the excitement builds.

What am I going to wear? How early should I start queuing,? What merch should I buy? Will they sing my favourite song? Will they premiere any new materiel? It’s all so exhilarating.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to see some amazing singer’s and band’s live. I’ve witnessed Cheryl at a sold-out O2 Arena in London, Girls Aloud at the same venue, Joe McElderry at St David’s Hall in Cardiff, Ward Thomas at The Globe in Cardiff, two X Factor gigs at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Union J at the same venue and also at The Glee Club in Cardiff, I have seen Little Mix, JLS and more at the Pontypridd’s Big Weekend Festival in the park. Every single concert I have been to holds a special place in my heart and I always love booking new events.

Tonight I am going to see Ward Thomas for the second time in Cardiff and I am so excited. They are amazing live and their harmonies are spine tingling.  And I am also going to see Lady Antebellum in Birmingham for the first time ever this October.

For me there is nothing more exciting or entertaining than going to a live gig.

Shania Twain is the Reason I am a Country Music Fan

I am so, so happy today because Shania Twain is officially back. The fact that she premiered her brilliant new single ‘Life’s About To Get Good’ during her incredible Stagecoach Festival set last night has made my week.

She is without doubt the reason I am a huge country music fan today. I was introduced to her music when I was around 8-years-old which is about the time she released her last album ‘Up!’, by my older brothers.

Since then I have been attached to the genre and now support a host of country stars including the likes of Ward Thomas,  Lady Antebellum, Kevin McGuire, Sarah Darling, and Una Healy.  But Shania is the only reason I got into country in the first place and I am forever thankful to her for that.

I think it’s the same for a lot of people in my age group as she made the genre accessible and fun to young people, with super catchy pop crossover hits such as ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good’ and ‘Ka-Ching!’. And now her new single ‘Life’s About To Get Good’ will introduce a whole host of young kids the genre.

I am over the moon she is officially back and you can just tell she has fallen back in love with making music and performing live again. I just hope she announces a world tour soon which includes a London or preferably Cardiff date as it would be a dream to see her live.

Shania Twain is a true icon of music and she has inspired so many country and pop singers around the world and opened the genre to fans from everywhere to fall in love with country. She is just incredible.

I am so excited for her new album to drop this September. Shania Twain is back and sounding better than ever.

Hoping Lady Antebellum Come to Cardiff as Part of Their World Tour

I am totally in love with the 70s inspired new single ‘You Look Good’ from the wonderful Lady Antebellum. The two-year wait for new music from the multi-Grammy award winning trio was well worth it.

Their new sound is incredible, and even though it is different to their previous releases it still manages to sound authentically Lady A.

I am also really excited for their seventh studio album ‘Heart Break’ which will be out on the 9th of June, and I’ve seen they have announced a World Tour which is wonderful news.

I’m hoping that they will finally head to Wales as part of their new tour, fingers crossed they add a Cardiff date.

It’s such a shame that so many international music stars overlook the capital of Wales when putting together a world tour. I’m hoping that Lady Antebellum don’t overlook the city again.

I would love to see them live, so a Cardiff gig would be amazing.

So Happy New Lady Antebellum Music is Coming Soon

I am so happy and excited that new Lady Antebellum music seems closer than ever! Judging by their recent Instagram and Twitter posts it looks like the country music trio will be dropping new tunes before the end of the year.

Since the beginning of September, Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott have been locked in the recording studio making new music for Lady Antebellum!

They last released and album back in 2014-the brilliant ‘747’-so after two years of having no new music from the country music stars I cannot wait to hear their latest stuff.

I’m hoping that they may perform a new song at this years CMA Awards, considering that they are nominated for an award and also took part in the ‘Forever Country’ music video it looks like they have been heavily involved in the 50th anniversary celebrations so it would make perfect sense for them to debut a brand new track at the award show in November.

It would be the perfect time and place to drop a new single and the promotion would be insane off the back of a live performance at the 50th CMA Awards.

Shania Twain and Lady Antebellum Need to Collaborate

I am a huge fan of country music and I absolutely love Shania Twain and Lady Antebellum, so one of my dream collaborations without doubt would be Shania Twain Feat. Lady Antebellum!

Considering both have broken and made countless records with their music a collab would be a massive hit around the world, and Lady Antebellum are big fans of Shania’s, they even regularly cover her huge number 1 hit single ‘Any Man of Mine’ on tour, and Twain is a also a big fan of theirs.

During her Las Vegas residency Shania Twain even invited Lady A backstage along with another country music band Little Big Town.

And during the 2013 ACM awards Hillary Scott (Lady Antebellum) met up with Twain backstage!

All of this proves that there is genuine love and respect between the musicians so a collaboration would definitely work.

The fact that both Lady Antebellum and Shania Twain are recording new albums means that there has never been a better time to make a collab happen!

They could even perform together at the 50th CMA awards in November (now that would be special).

Hopefully we will have a new track featuring Shania Twain and Lady Antebellum in the near future.

Excited to See Who Will Perform at the CMA Awards 50th Anniversary Show

I am really, really excited for this years CMA Awards as it is the 50th anniversary and I am expecting BIG things in terms of surprise performers.

The awards will be broadcast in America this November on Wednesday the 2nd, (no UK broadcast date is known yet) and will be hosted by the Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, but with only 50 days to go until the live broadcast organisers are keeping tight lipped over who will be performing on the famous stage as the world celebrates country music.

I’m hoping/thinking that Lady Antebellum may perform a new track as they are currently working on new music and they are also nominated in the Vocal Group of the Year category at this years awards, so to me it would make sense for them to make an explosive comeback with a brand new single.

Another artist I am hoping will explode back onto the scene is Shania Twain! At the moment there is no word on her being at the ceremony but considering she is the most successful female country artist of all time it would make sense for her to be involved in the 50th anniversary of the CMA Awards in some capacity.

The fact that she is working on her fifth studio album but did not release a new single back in August like she had planned to do also makes me think that she has something much bigger planned.

Think about it, it would be the perfect setting for her to make her musical comeback and perform a brand new track for the first time.

Millions of country music fans around the world would be watching and it would be a huge promotional platform.

I’m thinking (hoping) that her record label and management have told her to hold off on releasing any new music before November in order for her to make her comeback with a live performance of her new single at the CMA Awards 50.

So I am really excited about this years CMAs as I think it is going to be such a special night that celebrates the last 50 years in country music and also makes new memories that will be enjoyed and remembered for another 50 years.

Too Excited For New Lady Antebellum Music

I have to share my excitement with you! We are officially getting new music from country music sensations Lady Antebellum, soon. (I am far too excited).

It’s been two long years since their worlwide hit album ‘747’ was released, so I can’t wait to hear their voices again.

Charles Kelley tweeted earlier this week saying that he was excited to “really start digging into” the new Lady Antebellum LP this fall! He also stated that he hasn’t had this kind of time to record a new album with Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood since the band launched in 2006.

So it might be a while till we actually get a new LP from them but I’m confident that we should hear something new by the end of the year with the new album maybe coming out early next year.

Despite there being a while to wait for new music I just know it is going to be worth the wait as the time they have had to record and write has been invaluable and there is no doubt in my mind that this will be their best work to date.

I’m hoping that they may have some collaborations on the new release, (imagine Lady Antebellum feat. Shania Twain?) They do a lot of covers when they are touring and I was in love with their version of Shania Twain’s hit single ‘Any Man Of Mine’ (go check it out). So a few features on the new album would be a dream come true.

I just know that their new music is going to be absolutely fantastic and I am counting down the days until I hear what they have been working on. (I’m so impatient) .
