Live Gigs Are The Best!

For me nothing can beat the feeling of seeing your favourite band/singer live and in person. Seeing them in the flesh singing the songs you love is something really special.

Don’t get me wrong I love listening to CD’s and downloads but seriously nothing will ever feel better or more exciting than going to a live gig. From the start of the day the excitement builds.

What am I going to wear? How early should I start queuing,? What merch should I buy? Will they sing my favourite song? Will they premiere any new materiel? It’s all so exhilarating.

Over the years I have been lucky enough to see some amazing singer’s and band’s live. I’ve witnessed Cheryl at a sold-out O2 Arena in London, Girls Aloud at the same venue, Joe McElderry at St David’s Hall in Cardiff, Ward Thomas at The Globe in Cardiff, two X Factor gigs at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Union J at the same venue and also at The Glee Club in Cardiff, I have seen Little Mix, JLS and more at the Pontypridd’s Big Weekend Festival in the park. Every single concert I have been to holds a special place in my heart and I always love booking new events.

Tonight I am going to see Ward Thomas for the second time in Cardiff and I am so excited. They are amazing live and their harmonies are spine tingling.  And I am also going to see Lady Antebellum in Birmingham for the first time ever this October.

For me there is nothing more exciting or entertaining than going to a live gig.

Celebrating Seven Years of Cheryl’s Debut Solo Album

Wow! I cannot believe that today marks seven years since Cheryl released her debut solo album ‘3 Words’.

The LP was Cheryl’s first after Girls Aloud took a break and it was a massive number 1 hit and has since sold over 1 million copies.

The time has gone so fast and I couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved in her solo career so far.

Since the release of ‘3 Words’, Cheryl has dropped another three albums ‘Messy Little Raindrops’, ‘A Million Lights’, and ‘Only Human’, all of which have been hugely successful.

She has also made chart history by becoming the first British female in UK chart history to score five number 1 singles, with the songs ‘Fight For This Love’, ‘Promise This’, ‘Call My Name’, ‘Crazy Stupid Love’, and ‘I Don’t Care’.

Over the years my love and respect for Cheryl has only grown and I am excited to see what the future holds, and to hear her new music.

Celebrate Seven Years of Fight For This Love

How has it been seven years since Cheryl launched her solo career with the massive hit single ‘Fight For This Love’?

I still remember listening to it and watching the music video for the first time like it was yesterday.

I remember vividly the first time I watched the video as it was only a few months after the death of my father and I remember the lyrics hitting home. (I just had to keep fighting)

To be honest I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Cheryl’s solo music as I wasn’t a huge fan of Girls Aloud (I liked them, but I wasn’t a massive Alouder) but since I had pretty much fallen in love with Cheryl during the 2008 series of The X Factor I was excited to hear her stuff.

Fast forward seven years and I am the proudest Soldier! Cheryl is without doubt my biggest inspiration and I am so proud of everything she has achieved since she released ‘Fight For This Love’. That song is truly iconic and the fact that it has sold over 1 million copies proves what an iconic pop song it really is.

But she is not only known for that one brilliant song, over these past seven years Cheryl has gone on to score a further four number 1 singles (making her the first female artist in UK history to do so) 2 number 1 albums and a sold out arena tour. Her solo career has been so successful it has over taken that of Girls Aloud’s (who are the biggest girl band of the 21st century)

I really couldn’t be prouder of her and I cannot wait for her fifth album to be released.
