My Top 4 Albums of 2016

With Christmas fast approaching and the New Year just around the corner I felt now would be a good time to countdown my top 4 albums that were released in 2016.

The past year has seen some absolute gems released from the likes of Little Mix, Olly Murs, Rolling Stones, and Emili Sande, but my personal favourite three albums of the year are as follows;

4: DNCE-Self Titled.

After hearing tracks ‘Cake By The Ocean’, and ‘Toothbrush’ I was really excited for Joe Jonas’ rock/pop group DNCE to release their debut album, and I was not disappointed. The self-titled LP is full of fantastic tracks and is a great feel good album.

3: Charles Kelley-Driver.

I am a huge fan of Lady Antebellum and I am in love with lead singer Charles Kelley’s debut solo album ‘Driver’. It has a slightly different vibe to Lady A’s music and it’s not quite as country, but it is so good.

2: Nick Jonas-Last Year Was Complicated.

I am in love with Nick Jonas’ album from this year. The LP is like a diary put to song and it is so personal and deep. I really think it deserved to be nominated for a Grammy award. Not only are Nick’s vocals insane but the depth of the songs are on another level.

1: Ward Thomas-Cartwheels.

My favourite album of 2016 is without doubt Ward Thomas’ record breaking number 1 release ‘Cartwheels’. The duo became the first ever British country act to score a number 1 LP in the official UK charts and it is no surprise that the record did so well. The girls’ vocal harmonies are off the scale and the songs are so beautifully written. It’s an easy pick for my number 1 album of 2016.

Can’t Wait For The Official ‘Body Moves’ Video

I really like that DNCE have teamed up with the Victoria’s Secret models for their new music video!

The clip which features the US pop/rock bands brilliant brand new single ‘Body Moves’, shows the stunning models getting ready for an evening out while the handsome Joe Jonas sings the fantastic track.

But while I really like this particular music video, I cannot wait for the official ‘Body Moves’ video to drop as I know it is going to be epic!

Their previous clips for singles ‘Cake By the Ocean’, and ‘Toothbrush’ are so fun and I also really like that along with the storytelling in the videos they also feature shots of the group actually performing the track.

I’m hoping the ‘Body Moves’ video will have a similar vibe.

Hopefully the official music video will be released soon!

DNCE Deserve to Win Best Single at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards

I am beyond happy and proud that DNCE’s debut single ‘Cake By The Ocean’ has been nominated for ‘Best Single’ at this years BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards.

I am so glad that they are getting the recognition they deserve as the track is so fun and catchy, so I really hope they win.

They are up against some seriously tough competition tho, what with Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, and Drake all being nominated in the same category.

But I really hope that DNCE come out on top as ‘Cake By The Ocean’ is such a quirky and unique track.

The really deserve this award as they have come so far in one short year!

You can vote for ‘Cake By The Ocean’ to win ‘Best Single’ at the 2016 BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards by visiting the official voting website or by tweeting Radio 1 on Twitter with the hashtag #R1VoteDNCE. Voting closes on Saturday October 8th at 4pm.

The winner will be announced live on the Teen Awards show on Sunday October 23rd.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that DNCE win the award.

Loving DNCE’s ‘Body Moves’

I am totally obsessed with DNCE’s brand new single ‘Body Moves’! It’s everything I could have wished for and so much more.

The chilled out soft rock 70s vibes are awesome and Joe Jonas’ vocals are on point.

I think this is their most true-to-themselves song and I really think this is the sort of sound that the rest of the album will have.

It’s a really cool track and cements DNCE as the best rock/pop group at the moment! I just love their quirky lyrics and unique sound and I cannot wait for their self-titled debut LP which is out on November 18th.

I think ‘Body Moves’ is my favourite song from DNCE so far! I just love everything about it.

I am so excited to see what the future holds for them and I hope they go on tour soon as I would love to see them perform live.

So Excited For ‘Trust Nobody’

I cannot wait for tomorrow! New Music Friday is going to be totally awesome.

The reason it is going to be so awesome is the fact that we are getting a brand new song from Selena Gomez! Granted it isn’t her actual single as she is only a feature artist but I am still so happy and excited to hear ‘Trust Nobody’.

The new song was produced by Cashmere Cat, and also features Tory, alongside Selena.

I have seen that there are snippets of the song circulating on Twitter after Cashmere Cat played a bit of it on his Snapchat, but I haven’t actually listened to the clips as I want it to be brand new tomorrow (It’s taking a lot of willpower).

And not only does New Music Friday feature a brand new single from Selena Gomez, it also features DNCE’s new single ‘Body Moves’, so I am doubly excited.

I cannot wait for tomorrow so I can finally listen to and download ‘Trust Nobody’, and ‘Body Moves’.

I just know both tracks are going to be totally amazing.

Excited That Union J Will Be Performing Covers Soon

I am super excited about the new Union J lineup and I cannot wait to hear their new music and find out what direction they are taking their music in.

I am also really excited that the boys will be performing covers soon! Band member Josh Cuthbert confirmed on Twitter yesterday that Union J will be filming some covers soon.

I can’t wait to find out what songs they have chosen. I would love to hear them perform Aston Merrygold’s brilliant new single ‘I Ain’t Missing You’, DNCE’s super fun ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and also Nick Jonas’ gorgeous track from his latest album ‘Last Year Was Complicated’, ‘Unhinged’.

I think it would be a really cool idea for them to cover DNCE’s brilliant ‘Cake By The Ocean’ as it is such a fun song. And I would love them to cover Aston Merrygold’s ‘I Ain’t Missing You’ as I think the garage vibe would suit them. But my absolute fave cover I would love to see them perform is Nick Jonas’ stunning song ‘Unhinged’ I think their vocals would sound incredible on this gorgeous track.

I can’t wait to hear what songs they have decided to cover as I know I will love their versions.

Can’t Wait For DNCE’s New Single ‘Body Moves’

I cannot wait for DNCE’s new single ‘Body Moves’! The cover art for the first track to be taken off their upcoming debut album ‘DNCE’ looks pretty steamy so I’m expecting a lot of sexy lyrics.

I have not heard ‘Body Moves’ yet so I’m excited to finally listen to the song when it’s released next week!

I  have fallen in love with the quirky rock/pop sound of DNCE and I just adore Joe Jonas’ vocals so I know I am going to be obsessed with ‘Body Moves’ when it drops.

I love their EP ‘SWAAY’ and I cannot wait for their self-titled debut album which is released on November 18th. I just know it is going to be absolutely fantastic.

I’m also really excited for the music video for ‘Body Moves’ as I love the the videos for ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and ‘Toothbrush’, but I think this new clip will be on another level.

I am so glad Joe Jonas decided to put together this band as I think him, Cole Whittle, Jack Lawless and JinJoo make an incredible foursome and their music is truly unique.

I can’t wait to download ‘Body Moves’ on September 30th.

So Excited For DNCE’s Debut Album in November

I am so, so excited that my new favourite band DNCE have announced the official release date for their debut album! The four-piece mixed sex band fronted by Joe Jonas have announced that their self-titled LP will be dropping on November 18th.

The US pop-rock group have also unveiled the official artwork for the album:

The LP was originally going to be released in October but I guess they have decided to push it back until November (I don’t mind, more time to get the money for it, haha)

I couldn’t be more excited for the album’s release if I tried! I am in love with their EP ‘SWAAY’ and I absolutely love ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and ‘Jinx’ so I am really, really looking forward to hearing the music on the new record, especially since Joe said it will feature “beach vibes”.

I cannot wait to find out the full album tracklist as well and I really hope they announce a UK tour soon, I would really love to see them live.

I’m hoping that along with the uptempo tracks there will also be some chilled out ballads as I adore Joe Jonas’ vocals and when he performs a slow song his voice sounds fantastic.

I’m so happy we now have an official release date for their debut album as they are so fantastic and I just love their music.

Counting Down the Days Until DNCE Release Their Debut Album

I was always a massive fan of the Jonas Brothers and was pretty gutted when they split up, but I looking back I’m so glad that they did break-up as it has now allowed the boys to spread their wings and break out of the Disney shadow.

I also love how they have gone off in different routes and created totally individual styles away from the groups sound! Nick Jonas has found his feet as a solo star and is now one of the hottest RnB singers around. His new album ‘Last Year Was Complicated’ is an absolute masterpiece and for me it deserves a Grammy nomination.

And of course Joe Jonas launched a solo career a few years back with his album ‘Fastlife’ (I love that album) but he has since revealed that he prefers being in a band on stage rather than on his own, hence the decision to create DNCE.

I’m so glad that Joe had the confidence to start a new group as it must have been hard for him, what with everyone comparing the group to the Jonas Brothers! But to me the groups couldn’t be further apart in terms of musical styles.

I loved the pop sound of the JoBros but I am absolutely loving  the pop/rock sound that he has created with DNCE and I am getting so excited for their debut album which is due for release in October (literally counting down the days).

The album is sure to be filled with bangers and Joe has promised “beach vibes” for the LP which I am extremely excited about!

I just wish we had an actual release date for the album as I am so impatient to find out more details such as the track-list, the title, etc! There is still so much we don’t know and yet it is dropping next month.

The excitement for the LP is growing and I cannot wait to get my hands on it when it is finally released.

So Proud of DNCE

I am so proud that DNCE won Best New Artist at this years MTV VMA’s, they truly deserve it.

I think the award is even more special as the fans actually voted rather than critics (I think every award should be fan voted).

I am so happy that their unique blend of pop/rock is being recognised as I love their quirky tunes such as ‘Cake By The Ocean’ and ‘Pay My Rent’, although my favourite song of theirs is the sweet ballad ‘Jinx’, Joe Jonas’ vocals are insane on the track.

I am so excited for their debut album which is due for release this October as I know it will be one of my all time faves, I just know it is going to be filled with absolute bangers.

I also can’t wait to see them live this November when I go to see Selena Gomez on her Revival tour (too excited), I am sure they will put on a fantastic show.

I was also really psyched to see that DNCE are the first rock band to win Best New Artist at the VMA’s since 2008 when Tokio Hotel picked up the prestigious accolade. I think it just goes to show how good they actually are and I am so proud of them.

To be the first rock act to win the Moonman in eight years takes something special and they certainly are a very special band.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for DNCE as I’m sure they will continue to grow and become even more successful and win lot’s more awards.
